South African hunting safaris are priced using a transparent two-part model that is standard across the industry. Understanding how it works before you book will help you plan your budget accurately and avoid surprises.
The daily rate covers all your fixed safari costs — your professional hunter, lodge accommodation, all meals, the hunting vehicle, trackers, and skinners. Think of it as your all-inclusive lodge and service fee, charged per hunter per day in the field.
Observer and non-hunter rates are lower, as they exclude the dedicated PH and hunting vehicle allocation. These are available on request.
Trophy fees are charged per animal taken, and represent the actual cost of the trophy. They are only charged if you successfully harvest an animal — if you don't shoot it, you don't pay a trophy fee for it.
